FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FUTURE FOR KIDS RECEIVES $13,000 GRANT FROM THUNDERBIRDS CHARITIES
Tempe, AZ – May 31, 2017 – Future for KIDS received a $13,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities.
The grant will support the Discover Your Future out-of-school time program at the Native American Connections Coral Canyon Housing Complex in Central Phoenix.
Future for KIDS is proud to be the first trauma-sensitive, out-of-school time program in the state of Arizona serving elementary-aged youth. By training our mentors to understand the adversity our youth face, and teaching them compassionate, trauma-informed youth management techniques, we are able to support the youth in our program in the way that is most beneficial to them and their development.
“Thank you, Thunderbirds Charities, for investing in our program, but more importantly, our youth. We are a mentor-driven program and through the deepening of our mentor-training program, the impact we will be able to make in our community only grows” – Kelli Mason, Program Specialist
