Become a Mentor. Change a Life.
As a mentor, you will work in small groups with youth, serving as a positive role model in our free out-of-school time programs, “Discover Your Future” or “LEAD”. Our programming promotes resiliency against Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) among youth with the opportunity to interact with caring mentors in a structured program environment. ACEs consist of emotional or physical trauma that takes place before the age of 18 including all forms of abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction. Mentorship is the proven top strategy to reducing ACEs.
Discover Your Future – In our signature, Discover Your Future out-of-school time enrichment program, caring adult volunteer mentors work in small groups with youth (grades 3-6). Free to participants, Discover Your Future is offered for 2 hours once a week at locations throughout the valley. The program accommodates 50 participants at each location and features academic support through STEAM activities, dynamic fitness activities, and guided ethics discussions.
LEAD (Leaders Embrace Knowledge Achieve Goals Dream Big) – LEAD is an out-of-school time leadership development program for youth in middle school who face adversity. This program features caring adult volunteer mentors who work closely with youth focusing on academics, dynamic leadership training, and community involvement to develop resilient and confident peer leaders.
